Do you have a hard time making/keeping friends?

I decided to ask this after someone I though was a "friend" ended up being just another asshole who used me for my kindness again. I don't get it people always do this to me act like tey are friends but end up just using me then in the end treating me like sh*t and making me feel like trash. So getting back to the topic, Do you find it hard to make/keep friends? Personally I have the hardest time. First off I'm very quiet. My health also is unpredictable. So it makes it hard for me to meet new friends. When I do make them it's good for a while then something goes wrong, and it turns to sh*t every time. I don't think I have one real true friend in the world I just wish I knew why people don't like me. I mean I'm respectful I don't have a mean bone in my body. I'm the kind of person that will give the shirt off his back and the last dime to his name to help someone out, yet people always end up just building walls and keeping me out This sucks

Hey buddy, hope you're doing well. I know the feeling. While I do have a few good friends that I have known for years, I recently moved from NJ to FL for 6 months, and the entire time I was down there (I moved back to NJ last month) the only friend I had was my boss. It sounds like you need to be more occupied with looking out for #1, yourself. True friendship takes years of trust, and the occasional fighting to truly develop to it's full potential. My best friend and I got into a fight over a girl I was dating and didn't talk for 2 years, and we now inseparable again. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me, no one should feel alone!

I am in central Jersey (yes, that is a thing). I currently stay in Bayville, but will most likely be moving to Toms River quite soon. If you don't know where those are, I'm about 5 minutes from Seaside.

Nice! How long have you been in the industry? I always enjoy making new connections, and learning of everyone else's experiences!

I started doing inspections in 2008 and opening my own preservation company in 2010. We mainly did BOA work until they were absorbed into the enemy. Since then we have been working with clients such as MCS, LPS, AIM, and a few others. We have been trying to go broker direct only for a few years now, and it doesn't seem possible to move in that direction.

@joandcruz- you're not alone in both your demeanor and your experiences. I've spent a lot of my life being taken advantage of as a friend and employee. Lots of therapy sessions helped, and now I am able to work in an industry, known for taking advantage of people, with tact and expectations of myself. Hang in there, if you need to chat, let me know.

I'm about to stop chasing the broker direct thing. All I can get from them are lock changes. My prices on those might go up next year to quit fooling with those even. Thought I had a great yard work and trash out lined up, the realtors broker in charge yanked it from her because she hadn't attended enough meetings or some other Bologna. Thankfully I hadn't drove out to the property to bid it yet, it's about 45 minutes away from anything so would of been a huge waste of time.
