A guy I do business with was in Chicago several years ago to attend a banking conference with reps from HUD, Fannie, some big investors, etc. Trump was there. My buddy actually stood talking to another guy in the conference room within arms length of Trump for about a half an hour. Well, he said he pretended to have a conversation; he was actually eavesdropping. His impression? Brash, hyper confident, foul mouthed and very forthcoming. He spoke about complex financial issues in a very simplistic matter of fact manner. Much like he is seen on tv.
He spent a lot of his flight back home wondering how someone who didn't really seem any smarter than he was could amass such power and wealth. He came to the conclusion that of all the descriptions, both positive and negative one could say about Trump, there two things he never shows-fear or regret.
