Unhappy Alright. I get it now.

Back when I was in RI the money I took in was at least 3 times higher than my company expenses were I believe due to shorter rides to houses and smaller, shorter lawns.

Now that I'm in SC the lawns are all an acre, grass is growing 5 times as fast. (IN RI grass grew 5" every 2 weeks. Now it's 2') and it's an hour ride from house to house. With driving 5 times more, the mower doing 5 times more work my expenses are more than I make with a Regional. I can't make it happen.

Every check goes into maintaining my equipment. As soon as I think I finally have everything all set something else breaks and there goes my check. Time to start shopping for a Nat.

It's those darn bamboo shoots.

We lost a JD 425 to those darn pine needles getting into the deck unit and catching fire. They are a tinder-box that catch fire almost instantaneously. Or one of our crew bit by a Cooperhead during April/May mating season when they are VERY aggressive.

Oh how I miss SC!

Stepping up to a Nat may not be much more pay? They are definitely not a long term solution but they could provide a band aid. The industry has been in decline for years but this year is incredible how few properties there are overall.
