Calling it quits

After 20 + years I am calling it quits. I can no longer deal with the dwindling industry. And refuse to try to compete with people who do not understand the cost of doing business. Anybody who does grass cuts for 25 acre and debris for 20 cud good luck. $12 inspections no thanks. Aspen grove and the cost estimator did me in. Many feel the same hate to see it end but my net income has dropped 75% over the last ten years I can go broke sitting at home enjoying time with the wife and dogs don't need to work to go broke.

I shut the doors September 2017 for the same reasons! They have all these requirements for the "independent contractor" the Aspen Grove the cost estimators they tell you to provide a bid as an independent contractor and then if you don't do it after they cut the bid down to nothing they don't give you no work that's illegal. And then IF....IF... you get paid it's 60 days and you're a bill collector for 30 of those days it's an awful industry. Every client is a crook there isn't one that is any good just to let you know. It's sad story been in this industry since 1979..DONE!

Yes ear the time to get paid is big also although with minor exception I have always got my money they try everyway possible not to pay. Although we always kept our work orders NFR had us sign agreeing to destroy them after getting paid glad we didn't prevented a major backcharge 3 years after the fact

Ear 26 although there are many reasons for getting out another big one was the general rudeness and lack of knowledge or understanding the reps have. They get their check on Friday and could care less if you ever get paid. And the pass the buck attitude, its the client bull****, if so stand up and do something cause the client is your customer. One other thing that stood tall in my mind is the number of times I have had guns pulled on me recently by neighbors, disgruntled relatives, and even the police I refuse to die while working its against my religion lol.
