The simple truth is that once you install it they own it. The closest I ever heard of someone getting back on not being paid was a friend who got stiffed for the drywall finishing at a house.
He took a hammer and knocked a hole every four feet in every piece of drywall.
He got caught and ended up in front of a judge. When the judge asked him what he was doing he said he knew he could not take back the drywall so he was taking back his labor.
He said he figured that the amount of labor needed to patch a few hundred 2" holes was about the same as what it cost him to finish the drywall in the first place.
While the judge did chuckle at my friends creativity he also fined him $1,500 to pay for the damages.
My friend said it was the best $1,500 he ever spent because it would be nearly impossible to patch that many holes and not be able to tell it was patched.
