Aaron,

I sent this to Paul. Hopefully you're as busy as he is but could you look into something for the contractors?

Paul,

Have you found out the REAL why behind HUD doesn't want pre conveyance/pre sale contractors/vendors are not allowed to do post sale/post conveyance work?

That seems like a scam to me. For example, why are properties conveying with 30-45+ cyds,Mold,damages etc. I'd think it would be in their best interest in having the cradle to grave crew. Sounds like a great way to find charge back income. Just a thought. I never received a straight answer when I asked. Perhaps with Foreclosurepedia as the premiere media source on behalf of the contractors you can strike a nerve.

Are there supposed to be three blank pages after the first page of questions? Don't want to miss anything...

Sorry this one is taking so long...I got a gig rehabilitating the exterior of a 112 year old hotel and have been doing some 12-14 hour days...
I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN...
Also I'm investigating what could be a fraudulent BC as a tie in for the commentary...
Thanks for your patience...

I will post link to commentary tomorrow.
Back Charge Survey Results

Sorry this has taken so long but a couple of projects took a tremendous amount of time. More than anticipated!!
In regards to Back Charges in the PPI;
64% of the respondents claim they had a back charge they were unable to dispute. In a similarly worded question… Have you ever received a back charge you felt was unreasonable because you had no opportunity to remedy the matter? 73% said yes.
57.6% of respondents claim they do not know if the review of photographs for QC purposes is outsourced outside the US…
60.6% also claim not to know UCC Law.
Only 25% of the participants say there is no Back charge clause on their contracts…good contract.
A very disturbing statistic 65.6% say there is no time limit for a back charge to occur per their contracts language.
In regards to the Back Charge being a viable means of “checks and balance” in the PPI 59.4% said, yes if applied correctly.
In response to question 7, 87.7% of respondents say the once a service has been QC’d and approved and paid out a company should not be allowed to back charge.
81.7% also feel that there should be some sort of “Conflict Resolution” system by an independent third party for the industry…
In regards to the final question;
Currently the PPI has a couple organizations that claim to advocate on behalf of the contractors. Would you be more likely to consider becoming a member of an organization that had a conflict resolution system in place that assisted the Contractors in matters like this?
Yes I would consider membership……………………………………………………………………..33.3%
No……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..15.2%
The industry should have a neutral third party system in place…………………………………..36.4%
It would not make a difference I will not join an organization………………………………………15.2%
