More work in 2014?

I have been in contact with, or have been contacted by, 4 companies that in the past have either had no need for more vendors in my area or have had coverage area requirements that were beyond my ability to handle. All of them claim that at the start of 2014 they anticipate significant increases in workload in my area for one reason or another. The ones with the mandatory giant coverage areas have even agreed to allow me to choose the area I am wiling to cover.

Anyone else experiencing this? I am currently holding them all at arms length until I have time to mull it over and decide how I want to proceed.

We've been getting feelers...only two not four...
But the ones that had mandatory coverage area issues we will never deal with anyway no matter how much they adjust the coverage issue...

This is a very common tactic by these companies to add more contractors to their portfolio and to look more attractive to potential customers of theirs. AKA the banks.

2014 will come and go with little to no work from them.
You'll have wasted your time for nothing. Happened to me a lot.

Amateurs are people that can't do their job even when they do feel like it.

They're all coming out of the woodwork again. It's like sweeps week for Mortgage Field Services.

In my experience, this time of year is usually a time of big promises. Promises that are seldom kept. If I had 4 companies promising a new, positive, future. Id only expect 1 of the 4 to follow through.

Come on G you have been in the industry lone enough to knkow ght eroutine. Blow enough smoke up out (contractors) hiney to make us look like the Hindenburg when the reality is alll t ehy want us to look like is a toothpick . I'd say give it to me in writing and then you have a referrable contract with them and when they start to get pissy (as tehy will) send them theOriginal E amil and se what happens. If they don't hold their word you have LEGAL recourse and as all enployeesz for the nationals are representatives of that company they will have to recognuise that employees contract with you. Ds news had some good intel stating it is taking 48 months I belive it was for distresssed propertiers to get through the pipeline to REO

Best wishes and HAppiest of Holidays to you and yours

December is heavy on recruiting, forecasting, rebudgeting and office busy work. In other words, a lot of smoke.

I have only completed the app for one because they said they had work right away and the pricing and terms were pretty good.

Then it was no work, but I was pleasantly surprised when they called me and apologized for having me rush the paperwork and then not giving me work. It was explained to me that their customer was playing games with them at the 11th hour and they were sincerely sorry.

Never had anyone express actual regret for that before.
