Haven't had a lot of time to keep an eye on the pulse of the preservation world. Had a few days of down/refreshing time and thought I'd browse through a few threads.
It seems things have continued to spiral down hill rapidly. On 12/05/2012 I filed dissolution papers for my business tied to any and all preservation work. In March 2013 I refiled under a new name, and haven't touched a foreclosure since Dec of '12. I'll admit, there are times I miss the rat race. I don't however miss the constant phone calls, badgering emails, and ridiculous requests for assinine photos/services.
Those of you still plugging away at it full-time....KUDOS. Those of you with a couple toes in the water...BRAVO. Those of you out completely....CHEERS.
2013 was so damn busy I totally neglected to keep good relationships with some of the brokers around, so who knows if that pipeline is even repairable. So word of advice, even if you do diversify and trek off to other avenues, keep a good line of communication open to those that have been good to you over the years. You never know when they may have something lucrative in store.
May your 2014 be a prosperous one!
PS: For those of you out cleaning toilets and mopping floors in this -40 temps, God Bless You
