Thanks

I have hired no less than 3 people from this site, its so refreshing to hire people that know the business and want to work, and like what they do.The best part is you guys are working for other company's and are not completely dependent on me as as your sole income. Which is sweet.

So High 5 to everyone that has either contacted me threw this site or went to LinkedIn and found my company.

Just a guess but i think with the traffic and members this site reaches about 35% of all the contractors nation wide that deal with this type of work. i could be wrong but im guessing, you really can learn a lot from these guys and make some close allies. and the advice will save you big bucks.

"And that's all i have to say about that"

That's great to hear and just confirms why PreservationTalk exists. This site spawned from contractortalk.com. Since I do mostly private/normal work, I was a regular participant over there. The preservation page was growing and, truthfully, the mods there did not know how to handle the traffic nor the topics/conversations. Numerous regulars there, including some current moderators at this site, were suspended/banned and it was an ongoing struggle to reason and explain to the average drywaller/plumber/sparky how this industry operates. The powers that be knew there was a need for the preservation end to have it's own site, so they moved all the indians to their own reservation, and here we are.

Preservationtalk is very tame compared to the daily flame wars that went on between reo and the other world subs and gcs on CT, however contractors generally are a pretty raggedy bunch anyway.

FYI, for all of the whining preservation posters were accused of over there, a quick read on CT will still find plenty of poor slobs posting about no pays, impossible to please customers, crooks and fruitcakes in the private sector.
