General ins

What classification do you have general under? my insurance company wants to put us under janitorial but the prem is alot higher? What do you thin?k

Janitorial is one of the lowest priced classifications. Even when we were doing P&P we used the General Contractor classification.

so they are trying to put me under property managemnt and handy person with janitoral... is that even sound right? wouldnt i be under GEN? they claim cause we dealwith hand rails etc that is Carpenterty, and a janitoral is kind of what we do but not really?

Sounds ok. Main thing is a description of what duties you perform in case you have a loss. I use Gen Contractor mainly because we use sub-contractors. If you rebuild or do remodels and you classify as janitorial that construes a misstatement on the application which could void your policy at time of loss.

As long as you only do cleaning (mopping floors, cleaning toilets) then you are fine. Merry Maids type services.
