Oh this will be good

FYI The Laborers Union has begun this classification of worker and in parts of the country are soliciting work on Government Backed properties. If you are a Union member and want the Union shop rate of $36.75/hr per each employee plus the benefits then you should call your local chapter and discuss. Keep in mind that there is a major PIA factor but.....,

The odd part is this: If it's Gov backed loan (HUD, FMHA, FHA ETC) the Union shop gets preference.

And your company will be out of business in a week paying those rates.

JDRM,

you ought to see how much those Union shops charge to do the same work you do & they get it

$62/hr here.

You got to remember their are Union scale and private scale charges.

I was in a union for 8 yrs, walked away from a job making $30 hr w benefits, etc. No regrets! The union is out for themselves in the end, they screwed me good on my pension, cut pay, cut insurance, cut everything!

My point was I dont see HUD raising their pricing because someone wants to be union.... They will just stay with the non union companies.

Bottom line is the union is not all it is pumped up about anymore, those days are over! And I am in motown, where union is everywhere..

I agree JDRM. I'm definitely not a union guy myself.

I don't know if HUD raises the "rate per service" guidelines or if they allow a union shop to charge the Union hourly fee and "it is what it is" and pay it? That I don't know.
