Former Meth Labs

Soon after John Bates and his wife moved into their first home, the euphoria of realizing the American Dream gave way to a nightmare of foul odors, unexplained illnesses and spiraling costs.
A standard home inspection had revealed no problems with the home, in Suquamish, Wash., near Seattle. Bates, a Navy veteran and pipe fitter, and wife Jessie were thrilled to get the home on a 2-acre lot for $235,000, and they moved in with their then-7-year old son, Tyler, in March 2007. But soon after, the boy developed breathing problems, John Bates became "perpetually sick" and Jessie Bates developed strange skin rashes. It was a mystery until a year and a half later, when a neighbor casually mentioned what the previous occupant did for a living.

Professionals are people who can do their job when they don't feel like it.
Amateurs are people that can't do their job even when they do feel like it.

YEARS ago I saw an article that said if the property smells of cat urine and other fowl odors take spray starch and spray it on a wall or other suspect area. Wait 5 minutes and smear if it turns RED BINGO METH LAB. I have looked in vein to find the article again but to no avail. NASTY stuff.

I did a property 7 years ago and when I arrived ( it was 2 hours out of my area) it was posted METH LAB. I called in and the national said yes winterize it. I did and low and behold I asked for more money. They said sure we'll take care of you. DID the work 5 minutes in the house 10 out and went down the road. I was up all night with a head ache that was almost making my head Explode. I called in and asked what they were going to compensate me the next morning. 5$ I said NO WAY if I ever roll up on a property again that is posted you'll be getting another vendor to do it. The bank let it go back to the former owner because the clean up would have been too expensive .

NASTY stuff

when you say it was posted as a METH LAB, it was taped off right? it should have do not enter signs. you need to have a hazmet crew and someone who deals with meth lab clean ups to do any work in there or you run the risk of becoming a junkie. I have read and heard that if you even brush up against a wall, you can get hooked.

I do know that it takes only 1 time on meth to become a junkie and normal detox average time is 2.5 years. you might want to get looked at. I hope you're well.
