Insurance Claims - Question determine Carrier

Is there a way to determine a contractors insurance carrier when they will not provide the information? When you are a supplier / laborer as a subcontractor. "The party directly above you"

Another question - Additionally insured party named and listed whom is above you in your own policy. Do you claim against your own policy because they are named additionally insured? - I think this is a bad idea but wanted to get some input.

If you are not listed on the "others" Insurance you can't file a claim on that policy. You file a lawsuit/claim against "the person above you" and that person will turn in a claim against their policy.

Note: in many States you have to notify the Ins Carrier in a certain amount of time otherwise there is no coverage. The P&P field can do chargeback a months and/or years after work was completed.

Additional Insureds get real tricky and you will need to seek an Atty knowledgable in Insurance.
