MCS aka Major Cheap Skates

Just on here to vent a little and to let others know that if your company does a winterization for Major Cheap Skates and the pressure test does not pass, then they (major cheap skates) label it a partial wint and only pay half of the winterization fee. Even if you clean feces from a toilet and the pressure test does not pass, you will only be paid half of the wint fee. I am fairly certain that major cheaps will not get away with this type of behavior forever. Somehow their underhanded business practices will be exposed and they will fall on their faces or good ole karma will come back around as they say, and bite dear cheap skates in the rear.

Do they want you to bid repairs also?

A failed pressure test is actually more work than a passing one. But, as long as there are monkeys out there doing it, the policy will continue.

Here's an idea, tell them you can't do them anymore.

Ran into an MCS Vendor who has been around for several years and he was laughing how to get around this Partial WZ fiasco.....

He says the system holds pressure BUT there could be blockage in the water lines that prevents proper air flow for a proper pressure test. They then bid $750 to check for blockages. So if there is busted or missing water lines he still gets the full WZ price and its 50/50 on approvals.

I laughed at this and asked "how the heck do you check for blockages?" Ice I understand but......

He laughed and said "you get creative" lol.

I don't work for MCS, and THANK GOD I don't.

However if I did, everyone one of my properties that failed a pressure a test would end up with a compromised toilet. This would probably occur long before the invoice got cut . Screw that chit.....

I had that battle with AMS, but they gave in pretty

easily, when I refused to do them. but in the REO world with a $500 pre-approved allowable there were a lot of other options. Generally you could spend the $500, even if it didn't completely solve this issue, then bid the rest. But, I still insisted on getting my winterizations paid both times.

For P&P work I just wouldn't accept them.

I like the "blockage" idea, but it could lead to a lot of issues if you did it with any regularity.

I would never work for MCS. I'm tired of being creative. I just want to do my work get paid and hang out with the family.

If I wanted to make stuff up all the time I would have been an author or a writer for Letterman.
