New Glory Restorations in Washington State

HI! We live in Washington State and have just completed ALL the details as well as obtaining a business license for this industry. I wanted to introduce ourselves to this forum and start obtaining as much information as well as some of the experiences some of you have had to deal with in the industry before we venture out. We have the truck and trailer, ins, and all the things that we need EXCEPT the tools (Mower, implements of destruction, etc). We are just starting and our jobs that we are doing in the next few days are coming from NVMS. If you have any information, pitfalls or advice, we'd love to hear it. Thanks for reading and I look forward to talking with everyone.

Never had any real issues with NVMS other than they never gave us a lot of volume. Pay is regular and accurate. Welcome aboard.

I used to do the odd job here and there for them putting up auction signs. A couple months back they sent me some inspections. I had never done these type before and had some questions. I sent emails and left messages for about a week asking for clarification. I never got a response and finally emailed them and told them to reassign them. Never got a response for that email either.

Thanks for the heads up

We did 5 inspection jobs that don't pay but $10, but the wife thinks that if we do them, that NVMS will give us more higher level jobs in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to see if that pans out. I think that they place these and some were waaaaaay the hell out of town...45 miles up near the Pass, just to see if someone will do them. That way, they don't have to pay for what WE think they should. Between the gas, and time, it should pay double that. One house, OMG, was nasty. The ceiling was collapsing in one bedroom, and someone had backed into the exterior bedroom wall of another bedroom, thereby buckling the inside wall.
I've read some of the posts and found some new vendors. I hope that we get more work soon. Again, thanks for the help.

When you decline work for NVMS, you can input into their little popup why and how much you will do the work for. They are one company I have not found to penalize you for declining work. Don't be surprised after requesting $20 or $30 for that $10 inspection that you get it. It never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the advice. I will tell the wife that we can ask for more than just the $10. I thought that $10 was low for driving almost an hour to get somewhere for a crappy inspection. I'm not driving an hour and 20 min to do a $10 dollar inspection. I guess that they don't have anything more than inspections? Thanks!

Their office is in WV I believe. They can't possibly know your areas as well as you. Just note that an order is out of your coverage area and to reassign it or bump your price. I think they do mostly inspections, mowing, securing, auction signs and maybe debris removal.

Just me, but unless I had 20+ I wouldn't consider $10 for anything.

For what it's worth, I have done more than my share of "well I'll do it to get more work" and "well just do it so we look good/ are in their favor" as "do the crappy jobs to get the good jobs". I would say don't set your bar too low.

Hopefully this company (which I don't know) will be different, but every one has only ever looked at it as " good that got done, move onto the next job." They seem to have real short memories when it comes to favors.

Also, I have had good luck with other companies getting "out of services area fees". I've honestly trippled the price of the job easy just by telling them it is too far for my normal service area.

I have been doing mostly FNMA inspections for NVMS. I decline EVERY order as 10 Bucks is amusing.I usually request a total 25-30 Bucks per and so far all have been approved. They send me plenty of orders and some will pay much more like a drive by photo , usually pre forclosure. Quality control is good and no complaints however you are on your own to figure out the software. Read each instruction carefully as they are all different. Lenders are a quirky group. Let's hope I get paid in 60 days , stay tuned.

I tried them for 1 day. Did the inspections. Labeled 70 photos or so and saw one that I didn't need so deleted it. Suddenly ALL my labels were gone. I'm so used to deleting the photos I don't need (black, blurry, etc) that after the 3rd time the photos unlabeled I called them and told them to re-assign.

I just signed up with a Nat, finally. The Regional's are no longer cutting it for me. In RI everything was great, the money was rolling in. But down here in SC the jobs are so far out that the profit is no longer there. Haven't gotten any work yet but I'm already dreading the labeling photos bit...
