Newbie....anyone care to mentor?

Good morning. Just starting out in western part of NY to cover the capital district as well. Getting ducks in order and looking to add some certifications under my belt like WRT and ASD as per a post from Wannabe. Incorporated my company, got liability insurance, having a hard time getting affordable disability insurance and workers comp though. Who are the top paying 3 companies I should look to sign up with. What else should I look out for me...I am teachable so please share if you do not mind, the 5 things you wish you did from the onset of your business and the 5 things you should have not wasted your time with. Thank you again, looking forward to growing with you.

National and regional middlemen, insurance coverage applicable to select national preservation companies only, out of state required training for work processed thru companies like FAS, Safeguard, etc, taking out of area work under the guise of getting more local work, accepting discounts and extended timelines for payment causing us to pass the deadline to lien propeties. Off the top of my head...

Thank you. I am looking to sign up with a local realtor who gets a lot of the orders from the banks in a particular location. They say they only work with P&Ps who have workers comp and disability insurance. My liability is max. but the disability would be provided by the STate Fund which is very expensive and I am just starting out.

Albany

Taking it slow...looking to take the mold remediation and fire and flood course this coming November. Do not want to be the jack of all trades...rather specialize in a given area. Partnered with some colleagues and picked up two properties which had a lot of work. Work is 99% done and putting the properties on the market TODAY! Being exposed to all parts of the P&P and then stage to sell is exciting. People who purchase these homes will be very happy as we addressed a lot of issues that most investors would not have. Two great homes in Albany, NY How about you Preservation Dude
