So I'm getting this second hand and I'm not sure of all the details but,
My father in law said that their old neighbor got a call a couple weeks ago from some property preservation company that had dialed the wrong number or something. They asked if he could cut a lawn ASAP. This guy is retired and rather well off so he didn't need the money, but he was bored so he asked the address. Turns out it was like 3 blocks from his house. So they offered him $50 and he thought it would be an adventure so he took it. It apparently took him quite a while to figure out how to get the mower in the back of his car (probably should have just walked) and then like 2 hours to figure out how to send the pics off. In the end he thought it was quite fun.
Of course I immediately start to think about liability, and the fact that he didn't do any of the inspection. But what is the worst they will do? Not pay him since there is no contract.
Either way I got a chuckle out of it.
