I carry a Springfield 9MM, a Gerber knife, and a 6 cell mag light. I haven't had to use any of them yet, but I've been close. A few of my guys wear bullet proof vests in Milwaukee, nobody's been shot yet.
I carry a 1911 in the truck. Have worn it on my person a couple of times if I felt the heebee jeebees while working.
There was this one very rural house that really gave me the willies!!!!!!
No idea why.
Most of the time I work alone changing locks, winterizing etc.
Only have a helper on a trash outs.
About a month ago we did a trashout in Milwaukee and had a police escort all day long. The two contractors before us tried and were held up at gun point.
Glock .40, 3 pre-ban 15 round clips. If a gun fight breaks out, I might lose, but, I won't lose just because I lacked the ability to shoot back.
It usually stays in the truck, but I have carried it into houses that appeared to be inhabited by vagrants.
A safety tip - if you come to a closed yard gate and your not SURE the property is vacant...shake the gate. If there is a dog, he'll come running. Otherwise, you may be 10 feet inside the gate before you realize... oh nuts, and then your shaking hands with Fido.
90 pound pit bull bear spray and a 300 pound divorcing *******
so far so good
