Not teens working for me!! Been a single father 10 yrs and I never toss away work. I have amigos for labor. Just an idea of whats fair is all i am needing.
Purchase estimating software like simsol, xactamate, repair base etc. you can get an idea of a fair price there. You shouldn't be using "amigos" for work on HUD/REO properties. If one of them gets hurt or dies on the job, your GL will not cover them. they are not bondable and shouldn't be on those properties, or this country in the first place.
A buddy of mines had a illegal working for him on a job for Safeguard. They were trimming palm trees and the amigo's line broke and he fell 2 stories to and died while in the hospital.
1. He wasn't covered to trimming tree's above 10 feet per his policy.
2. His undocumented illegal alien had no papers on him and spoke no English.
3. His insurance only covered landscape maintenance and debris removal. Not all the work he was doing.
His client needed a full report of what happened. (regional) who then sent all pertinent info to Safeguard. Not only was all of his receivables placed on hold due to non compliance, he lost all of his work, was fined 1 mil, And is currently sitting in jail. This happened 4-5 years ago. Another man is raising his kids and kissing his wife good night.
