Has anyone heard about national companies blacklisting a regional or contractor? I have heard that this is possible and one of the reasons why so many regional companies change their names/owners once a year.

To clarify: Does anyone know if blacklisting happens?

Yes I know for a fact that this happens.

i know of a couple contractors locally whom have had it happen to them, werent able to pay off their account at a couple suppliers and word got around

also know of workers getting "blackballed", a buddy was in the union at the longshoremans hall working on the dockyards. he was making great money but took a 2nd job at a bar for the social aspect.. one of the union members saw him working and reported him.. he didnt work for 6 months

This is why it seems that regionals change their name every year or so?


As to the Union thing, just another reason to shake my head at them.

A lot of contractors have 2-3 names... Not cuz anything wrong..just because

I suppose 2-3 cgls are not bad for the offset increase.
