So I get to this property and theres a bunch of junk outside in the barn. Then I notice on the side of the house theres a whole house generator. So I walk over and take a look its all black on one side of it like it caught fire at some point. I open the case up and theres no power going to it what so ever wont start NOTHING. What should I bid for the price to remove it since its considered exterior debris now that its junk.

What is it going to cost you to remove it?

Will you need a licensed electrician to disconnect it? Will you need a skidsteer type loader to carry/load it? How many man hours are you going to have into the project? How far does it need to be hauled to dispose of? Will the house wiring need to be reconnected by a licensed electrician? How much money do you need to profit from all the above (not counting the salvage value of the generator. That's just a little extra for you!)?


Basically: Electrician + Rental equipment + Hauling + Man hours + Profit = $YOUR BID$

If you are allowed, usually your not supposed to take appliances etc. But in this circumstance it's not operable and a bid is required if it's worth keeping and fixing bid low enough to make worth it if not bid high and if approved then great

Seriously, do you still want to make a profit from this? I doubt that you did it, because according to the description you needed a lot of costs, I now have the same situation and I therefore found this thread. Can you share how you decided this?
