If I remember right the last dehumidifier I rent from HD was about 40/day and I charged 110/day to the insurance company. 190 seems like a money making opportunity.

I buy mine in bulk from ABC Warehouse. Works out to be just over $100.00 a piece after taxes.

Write on each HOME dehu "property of *** Property Preservation and call ***-***x for free pickup". The new homeowner 40-50% of the time will call. Go recycle those little dehu's.

I must have misunderstood the original post. Great idea though. Maybe a 20.00 "reward" would up the 40%-50% to 80%? doesn't cost anything if they don't call to return it. If they do call it costs 1/10 or so the cost of a new one.
Because of our very dry climate I only installed very very few dehus.

I think 4 or 5 in three years would be pushing it

I tried that but didn't see any additional results surprisingly. A lot of realtors would call before closing to come pickup with the signage/verbage also.

Did that on the last 2 dehu's I installed, one is still in a house that hasn't conveyed, the other was returned and is getting installed in another house today!
