We had a guy in my area for awhile, he actually asked me how to do winterizations when he saw me. Said he had accepted 75 of them and didn't know how to do one. He later started mowing with a 21" push mower. I ended up with all his properties a few months later, needless to say they were a mess. It was nice while it lasted here, myself and another vendor split the city at the river that runs thru the middle of it he had the west side I had every thing east of it. It was hard as one of the top 2 vendors in Iowa at the time to get your rate up or even negotiate w/o's when clowns would come in not knowing how to even swing a hammer and do it for $20 bucks cheaper. In the long run you're still around and they're gone but the nationals don't care they just see a chance to pocket more money for themselves. They know they can find another fool who thinks he'll make it big then dump him for the next one. He's right though if you don't watch your bottom dollar like a hawk you're toast after fuel and expenses they don't tell you about up front margins are slim.d+jhomeservices said:it does'nt work well taking it up the :whistling and no ky jelly, its a real tight business anymore:sad:
