How do you guys handle this for your crews on the road? If they come to shop at 8 AM, and don't get back until 8 PM. I know legally employees must receive a lunch break after 7.5 hours I believe.

What state are you located? Federally you are not required to give a lunch break but certain states require you to. I would talk to the labor board in your state, it how I found out paying for drive time is employer- employee agreement, not required :)

Depends on the state. Florida does not require you to give them a break.

However, if you do it has to be in a location where they cannot conduct work or you have to pay them for the break time.

The GC my brother used to work for found this out the hard way when he fired the receptionist and she filed a complaint to the labor board and they made him pay here 1/2 hour of overtime each day for the last 2 years she worked there because she took her breaks at her desk and he did not have a seperate break room.
