mmirra said:The companies who think they are "guru's" in the PP business are actually screwing it all up. If they worked on their own business and did all the work in house there would be a better control of the price standards that are given from the banks. Now the banks have caught on to this and now they want to pay $25 to the main contractor. This will destroy the market and this industry. We do ALL work in-house and we have NY, MA and Philadelphia PA and slowly spreading out. But its all worth it because we know the work is being done right and it shows you are a true business person. If you are a sub you are being screwed over by your main contractor as they are making money off your hard work. If they are paying a flat rate to you like many of the "guru's" are then the banks will set their price at that and these "guru's" won't be able to pay you because the rate is too low. This will happen. Do as I do and get the ins. and everything else you need and do it yourself. These "guru's" are NOT doing you a favor. Yes, they do know the industry but they are also destroying it by outsourcing. I have PLENTY of work but I don't outsource.....I hire more people so I can create long lasting jobs. The outsourcers are just using people and before you know it your phone will stop ringing because they are not making their money off you anymore and they will be no more. Be your own boss. Get the ins., workman's comp, and be proud of what your hard work earns you. It's not hard at all to get into working with the big guys. We did it and now we pick who we want to work for. There are many assets to get info to get help. SCORE is one of them who will help your business venture for free. You can do it. Make the money you deserve for yourself and not someone else who you think are helping you. Good luck! It's a hard business but it does pay off and you will do well if you work hard.
That's my rant and I'm sticking to it!!
