I'm not sure what you mean but what we did 3 years ago was this... Just got online and started to call every local Realtor. Just asked them if they deal with REO or Forecloses. If I called 10 maybe I mean maybe 4 would ask for my info and only about 1 would ever call us for work. We did that for a year got good at what they require and now working for National company's. Is that what your looking for or did I get that all wrong?

I was unemployed and couldnt think of anything else to do so I became a handyman. I really had no idea what I was doing but I was good at getting new clients. A realtor client turned me on to REOs in the late 90s.

Back then, if you got an REO property, you usually got 30k per job for eviction, cleanout, repairs etc. I loved them.

I have always been better at getting work than actually completing it and learning how to work was my hard part.

How did some of you guys that deal with reo work get started.
I worked in loss mitigation and remarketing for 10 years. Started a landscaping a couple years before I was laid off. Did work for realtors, HOA's and private residents. Received a call from FAS, who got my # from a broker we did work for. I had a 14 month severance package from my employer to keep me going while I built up my business. Been through a lot of ups and downs.

The biggest mistake i ever made in this business was that I dropped all of my residential work(private customers) instead of just hiring more people to do that work. Got so busy with REO work. Then we got into Pp work.

I'm now working my way out of the full time aspect of Pp and REO. Just landed a commercial grass contract for a tract community doing just the grass and sprinkler maintenance. Submitted bids for the tree and shrub maintenance as well as herbicide and weed control.
