ok long story short-was looking thru craigslist one day and noticed an add for a free log cabin, well I contacted the other party and after hammering out a few details a contract was drawn and the cabin given to us. Its literally a piece by piece removal job, not demolition. The church that gave it to us agreed to gut it and leave the outer structure for us. So, here is the problem, when I called York Jersey for a rider I was informed Loyds wanted no part of this, they consider it demolition and they felt they did not want this kind of exposure on a mortgage field service policy-they suggested finding someone local to insure us as they would want 1k for a one shot policy.

Anyone know of a good ins. company that will do a one shot policy for a decent price? Cabin pictures attached >

well after hemming and hawing and speaking with countless agents who wanted nothing to do it we had to go thru York jersey as they we have our MFS policy with them. The cost was 1k where others wanted 2600 and 1700 respectively.

Now the trick will be to get it done in two weeks :whistling2:

I've never done demo work, but what kind of insurance policy are you looking for exactly? Is there some type of insurance you should have doing a job like this ?

Even though this is deconstruction, they are calling it demolition and wanted to know what our credentials are blowing stuff up-I do not think they were talking about my countless years of heaving half sticks over the back fence on the 4th:thumbup:

Take lots of pics and post as you go...I'm curious how that baby is gonna peel down as you go along. Is it spiked or mortised?
spiked. Its gonna be fun watching this play out. The owners already pulled out all plumbing and electrical and demo'd the kitchen and bedrooms-we are just taking walls windows, roof-whole outter structure down to the foundation. Not sure why the church chose to get rid of it. It was really beautiful on the inside, totally modern. Now all I hope is all goes well cause not only is GOD watching but also the local newspaper:innocent:
