I just received this email from a sub company I get some work from. This :censored: grass cut BS is getting deep.

Effective immediately, lot sizes for grass cuts DO NOT include the square footage of the house.

 When calculating the lot size, please deduct the square footage of the house from the
total lot square footage to obtain the billable lot size.

 When invoicing, the following are required measurements:
o Total lot size
o Square Footage of house
o Actual lot size being cut
 Example:
o Total lot size: 140 x 40 = 5,600 Sq. Ft
o Square Footage of house: 986 Sq. Ft.
o Actual lot size being cut: 5,600 – 986 = 4,614 Sq. Ft.

What if it's a 2 story? If not careful you could be cutting yourself too much.

MCS has done it this way for a couple of years.

How is this BS?

I get paid for what I do.

If I buy gas and pay $50.00 I in return want $50.00 of gas not 35-45 worth.
Most likely the company is still charging the bank $X based on gross lot size. They are just changing the way to pay the contractor as it seems less of a cut than just paying less(this will cause some properties to fall into the lower range of pricing).

In the above example, the property dropped from the 5k-10k bracket to the 0-5k bracket, therefore paying less. I would guess that the bank is still being charged the 5k-10k bracket, if they are following HUD regs, so it's just another way for the middleman to get a bigger cut.

That is seriously ridiculous! Find someone else to work for.
