[TPG Preservation]

Hello all,

We have been doing preservation work for 2 years and work with a couple of nationals. The profit margins are slim but we do make some good money at times. We aren't trying to get rich but are looking for a honest days pay for an honest days work.

All I am seeing on these forums is who sucks to work for. Does anyone ever post who the good guys are that pay decent and doesn't treat you like a pos?

For the most part they all seem to be the same kind of different.


Meaning they'll get you sooner or later, and often times it'll be a new excuse as to why you
are the one bent over the barrel.

I can see how they will all get theirs one way or another. Really wish this business wasn't so cut throat but it is.

We can't compete with Joe Preservation that is willing to work for beer money.

Maybe someone could list the companies to absolutely stay away from. I don't know for sure but I am guessing that on that list would be Cyprexx.

All I am seeing on these forums is who sucks to work for.

I am a glass half full type of guy. We do new construction, rehabs, flips, landscaping, bla bla bla as well. If you were to ask your question related to those fields, I could give you a lot of postive spin and feel good about doing it.
The majority of my posts here are negative and I dislike that.
I dislike what this industry has done to contractors even more.
There are scattered pockets of the country when a handful of contractors are making good consistent money month to month from a few regionals.
The same regional in your area may have little work, or a poorly trained rep who cannot be trusted.
You have to look at each new company that your interested in without the rose colored glasses and decide if the regs they have are designed to help the two of you succeed, or just one.
